KHS Seniors, Terry Alaniz and Zabdiel Collazo-Perez have taken on a new project! They have joined forces to create the Teens for Teens "Teen Care Packages" collection drive. They are reaching out to our school and community to collect "teen friendly" items that will be donated to teens at our school and at the local Salvation Army.
The young men have circulated their information to classrooms and school organizations here at KHS. They have also reached out to some area churches and civic organizations. Donations by those groups will go to the Manna Cafe, Salvation Army or other organizations as requested.
The organization is now reaching out to the other high schools in Clarksville. Their hope is that other teens will start a similar collection drive for their own school. There is a significant need for assistance for teenagers in our area as their needs are sometimes overshadowed by the needs of younger children. There are many high school students who are on their own for providing even their most basic needs let alone clothing and school supplies! Hopefully, the Teens 4 Teens Program will help increase Clarksville's awareness of this need!

What is needed:
The group collects non-perishable food, personal care products, and clothing items appropriate for teens. Brochures were developed and distributed throughout the school and to local churches and civic organizations. Donations at the school will go to supply the Food Pantry and Clothes Closet at Kenwood High. They have asked that donations from the community also go to the Salvation Army.
Like many groups and organizations in the area,
the school participates in the F.U.E.L. program
and the Teen Care program seeks to supplement these donations.
